Bernetta Carol Loan Shively, of Powhatan, VA, won her battle with inflammatory breast cancer on Saturday, January 22, 2011, when her spirit was freed from the disease she worked so hard to keep at bay.

Bernetta is survived by her loving husband, Gary; her beautiful daughters, Hannah Elizabeth and Sarah Lynnlee; her mother, Christine Loan; two brothers, Claude and Gerry Loan; four sisters, Joyce Cronin, June Hayslett, Jewel Pence, and Leniese Baker; and a loving family of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011, in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rt. 60) Powhatan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
