Obituary for Ida Elizabeth Hayslett McNeil Ida Elizabeth Hayslett McNeil
County Native Was High Bridge Presbyterian Church Member

Ida Elizabeth Hayslett McNeil, 75, of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born on August 25, 1935 in Rockbridge County, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Hayslett and Mabel Link Hayslett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy S. McNeil; daughter, Karen Sue Lilley; grandson, Steven W. McNeil, Jr.; five brothers, George, John, Bert, Edward, and Lewis Hayslett.

Mrs. McNeil was a member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church, Lexington Moose Lodge Chapter 1741, AARP, and the Rockbridge Area Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her children, Rickey Hayslett, Sharon Lilley, Steven W. and Laura McNeil, Sr., and Sheila K. Southers; siblings, Ralph Hayslett, Herbert Hayslett, William Hayslett, Minnie McIntire, and Millie Beard; grandkids, Marylee McNeil, Cindylou (Louann) McNeil, Brandey Hayslett, Megan Hayslett, Wayne Gibson, Tasha Gibson, Shane Lilley, George Wade, Benjamin Wade, and Tonya Wade; eleven great great grandkids.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at High Bridge Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jason Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in High Bridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
