Sylvia Vess Bane, 72, of Natural Bridge, Virginia, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at her home.
Born August 16, 1938 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late William Whiteman Vess and Armetta Noel Vess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James L. Bane,; two sisters and three brothers.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda B. Paitsel of Lexington; three grandsons and two great granddaughters.
The service and visitation will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
