Gladys Odell Pugh, 87, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Heritage Hall in Lexington.

Born January 23, 1924 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Jarrett Lee Nuckols and Sudie Bea Gilbert Nuckols.

In addition to her parents Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Morris Pugh, and a daughter, Maxine Clawson.

Mrs. Pugh was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church, and retired from Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Surviving are three sons, Lester Lyle Pugh and wife, Joyce; Barry Pugh and wife, Linda; Ernest M. Pugh and special friend, Diane; two daughters, Janet Bryant and husband, John; Sheila Pooley and husband, Bryan; twenty grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 p.m. with a memorial service to start at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2011 with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
