Bernice Snyder Clapsaddle, 92, of 825 Long Ave., Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at her residence.

She was born February 11, 1919 in Clifton Forge, a daughter of the late Harry Jacob Snyder and Claudie Miller Stone Snyder.

Mrs. Clapsaddle was a homemaker and was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Clifton Forge.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clapsaddle was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ray Clapsaddle in 2002.

Surviving are two daughters, Trina Clapsaddle and Claudette Wince and her husband, Daniel all of Covington; one son, Thomas Van Clapsaddle and his wife, Lois of Covington; three grandsons, Dwayne Clapsaddle and Dean Reynolds of Covington; Robert Thomas of Covington and Patrick Clapsaddle and his wife, Kristy of Greensboro, NC; one great granddaughter, Regan Clapsaddle of Greensboro; NC; one sister, Alma Knick of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2001 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Merrell officiating.

The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Friends may pay their respects any time at Arritt Funeral Home and the family will receive their friends 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
