Dorothy Jane Tyree Conner, 96, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Augusta Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 3, 1914, in Rockbridge County , a daughter of the late Elmer Stanley Tyree Sr. and Minnie Ethel Clark Tyree.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roddie Conner Sr.; children, Clifford Tyree, Julia Brown, and three brothers, Gilbert, Elmer, and Roby Tyree.
Dorothy was a member of the Lexington Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sons, James Jr., Jerry, and Michael Conner; sisters, Gay Sorrells and Ava Trobovich; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lexington Baptist Church 75 Old Farm Road, Lexington, VA 24450.
