Alleghany County Public Works Retiree

Samuel Eugene Tucker, 71, of 7414 Tucker Road, Covington, died Monday, March 21, 2011.

He was born May 14, 1939, in Alleghany County, a son of the late McKinley A. and Della Tucker Tucker.

He was a retired employee of the Maintenance Dept. for the Alleghany County Public Works Office.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Tucker, and a sister, Irene Tucker.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Walton Tucker, of Covington; one son and daughter-in-law, Lacy and Norma Tucker, of Covington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Selina and Everett Bowen, Sophie and Mike Poe and Lucy and Joey Brewster, all of Covington; six grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Smith, Louise Walton, and Phoebe Wright, all of Covington; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangments are incomplete and are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
