George Boyd Decker, 93, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on November 17, 1917, went into the presence of the Lord on April 4, 2011 at his home in Buena Vista VA.

He was a member of the Chapel Fellowship of Virginia Military Institute, Lexington.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 8 sisters, his parents, and his first wife, Gladys.

Surviving family members are his wife, JoAnn; two sons, David and Timothy; two daughters-in-law, Janice and Gaby; four granddaughters; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 10, at 2:30 p.m. in Moody Hall, Virginia Military Institute Memorial gifts may be made to the VMI Chaplin's Discretionary Fund (assisting cadets on short-term mission trips), in care of: Institute Chaplain, Virginia Military Institute, Lexington VA 24450.
