Mary Lawrence Tyree, 75, of 826 Long Avenue, Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

She was born August 8, 1935 in Montgomery County, MD, a daughter of the late Arnold Ray Lawrence and Iva Belle Hope Keller Lawrence.

Mrs. Tyree was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Jimmy Jasper Tyree and also by a sister, Alice Lawrence Crutcher.

Surviving are one daughter, Marie Haynes of Dublin; three sons, Ralph Tyree and his wife, Phyllis of Covington; Chuck Tyree and his wife, Faye of Clifton Forge and James Tyree of Goshen; four grandchildren, Ryan Tyree of Dublin; Jared Tyree of Clifton Forge; Candy Tyree of Augusta Springs and Willie Donovan of Covington; one brother, Arnold Robert Lawrence of Colorado Springs, CO; and a number nieces and nephews. There will be a private funeral service at a late date.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
