Obituary for Robert Eddie Grady, Sr. Robert Eddie Grady, Sr.
Christiansburg Resident Was Covington Native

Robert Eddie Grady, Sr., 78, of Christiansburg, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday April 30, 2011.

He was born November 9, 1932 in Covington.

Eddie was raised in the home of the late Floyd and Louise Grady.

Mr. Grady served with the United States Navy during the Korea War.

He was a self-employed painter and loved to cook and was an avid gardener.

Eddie was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Hoover Grady and also by two sisters, Maxine Brown, Carol Davis and Kaye Burks.

Surviving are his wife, Judy B. Grady of Christiansburg; two sons, Robert Grady, Jr. of Covington and Anthony Dalton of Dublin, OH; four daughters, Angela Pritt, Melody Griffith and her husband, Gary and Debra Dudley, all of Covington; and Dr. Patricia Gallimore of Winston-Salem, NC; seven grandchildren, Kelly Pritt, Jennifer and Craig Chambers, Amy and Michael Harold, Brandon Grady, Penny Pritt; Joshua Gallimore and Robert Dudley; five great grandchildren: Dakota Pritt, Brittany Chambers, Ashleigh Pritt, London Harold, and Tori Casswell; one brother, Samuel Ford, Jr. and his wife, Joanne of Woodboro, MD; five sisters, Jean Smith of Virginia Beach; Virginia Puffenberger of Millboro; Betty Spellman of York, PA; Linda Haynes of Covington and Gail Botkin, both of Covington; a special friend, Leslie Fisher; an adopted granddaughter and caretaker, Sunshine Cassell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the 11:00 a.m. in the Christian Growth Center, 1850 Electric Way, Christiansburg, VA.
