Homemaker Was Botetourt County Native

Janice Howard Warlitner, age 74, of 313 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at The Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

She was born May 4, 1937 in Springwood, Botetourt County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert G. Howard, Sr. and Virginia M. Young Howard.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret O'Meara and Iris Mae Piercy.

She is survived by her husband, Gary E. Warlitner of Clifton Forge; a step-daughter, Michele Harris and husband, Richard of Covington; a step-son, Scott Warlitner and wife, Amy of Cumberland, VA; a sister, Joyce H. Black of Millsboro, DE; two brothers, Robert G. Howard and wife, Alice, and William "Billy" Howard and wife, Betty, all of Clifton Forge; two brothers-in-law, Don Piercy of Millsboro, DE, and Tom O'Meara of Clifton Forge; four step-grandchildren, Jessica L. Watson, Kate Hoke and husband, Pat, Carmen Watson, and David Harris, all of Covington; two step-great grandchildren, Quinton Harris and Karlie Hoke; an aunt, Audrey Terry and Skipper of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Thomas G. O'Meara and Gary Piercy.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated and a graveside memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend J. Glenn Linthicum officiating. The family will assemble at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, then proceed to the cemetery. They will visit with friends at the cemetery following the service.
