Spottswood Arthur Styles, III, 82, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Heritage Hall.

Born September 10, 1928 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Spottswood Arthur Styles, II and Mary Susan Waller Styles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Styles.

Mr. Styles was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the VFW in Lexington, and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his children, Michael Styles, Maurice Styles, Lawrence Styles, and Heyward Blakey, all of Madison, VA; Derrick Howell of Richmond, VA; one brother, Harry Styles of NY; one sister, Juliann Beale of California; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
