Obituary for Dorothy Amick Keesee Dorothy Amick Keesee
West Virginia Native Taught School For More Than 50 Years

Dorothy A. Keesee, a resident of Kendal of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, May 21st.

Born at Berwind, WV, in 1921, the Marshall College graduate lived in Beckley, WV, for more than 50 years, teaching 7th & 8th grade math for 23 years, concluding at Stratton Junior High School.

She was a member there of Beckley Presbyterian Church, where she was active in bandage rolling, office support, and other service activities.

After moving to Lexington in 2008, she joined Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Her husband of 61 years, Robert E. Keesee, passed away in 2005. She has a son and daughter-in-law, Robin and Alice Keesee of Fairfax, VA, and grandsons Abbott W. Keesee (VMI '00) and his wife, Lisa of Lexington and CPT Charles L. Keesee (VMI '04), US Army, serving in Iraq with a unit from Ft. Carson, CO.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18th, at Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory.
