Obituary for Janutia Armentrout Hoke Janutia Armentrout Hoke
Former Greenbrier Employee Was Owned Of Pleasant Valley Produce

Mrs. Janutia Armentrout Hoke, age 86, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Ronceverte, WV.

She was the wife of the late Dewey Edgar Hoke.

Mrs. Hoke was born September 10, 1924 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late James William Armentrout and Emma Armentrout.

She was an employee of the Greenbrier Hotel for eighteen years, was a former owner and operator of Pleasant Valley Produce and was a private caregiver.

Mrs. Hoke was of the Baptist faith.

She enjoyed music especially singing with her family and owned a vast collection of music. Most of all, Mrs. Hoke enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her great- great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hoke is survived by one son, Stephen E. Hoke and wife, Donna of White Sulphur Springs, WV; one daughter, Linda Silver and husband, Edward of Madison Heights; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; a number of great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack L. Armentrout and Jessie A. Armentrout, both of Staunton; one sister, Lula Brown of Morris Hill; one brother-in-law, Marvin Hoke of Atlanta, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, James William Armentrout and Emma Armentrout, and her husband, Dewey Edgar Hoke, Mrs. Hoke was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Hoke; two brothers, Bobby Armentrout and David Armentrout; and two sisters, Lucille Sims and Martha Sue Armentrout.

A funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Merrell officiating. Interment followed in Hoke Chapel Cemetery. The family received friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 1006 Hoke's Road (Jerry's Run), Covington and at her son's residence, Hamilton Drive, White Sulphur Springs, WV.
