Martha Elizabeth Mehler, 62, of Rockbridge County, Virginia, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Waynesboro, VA on February 23, 1949, the second daughter to the late Thomas Walker and Jean Hoffman Mehler.

She received her undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts from VA Tech in 1979 and her graduate degree in Library and Information Science from UNC-Greensboro in 1984.

She is survived by two sisters, Helen Ogden and Catherine McGann; one brother, John Mehler; and two brothers-in-law, Charlie Ogden and Fred McGann.

A celebration of her life will be held with her family and friends. Her ashes were interred in the family plot in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro, VA.

Cremation was by McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro. In 1949, their building was Waynesboro's hospital where she was born. "She went out where she came in, and had a great life in between."
