Obituary for Thomas Caldwell Lewis Thomas Caldwell Lewis
First Baptist Church Member Was World War II Veteran

Thomas Caldwell Lewis, 90, of Lexington, Virginia, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Benjamin Borden Healthcare Center in Lexington.

Born January 26, 1921 in Rockbridge County, he was the son of the late Walter Edward Lewis, Sr. and Ethel Johnson Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a past deacon and usher.

Caldwell served his country during World War II, where he was a Staff Sargent for the U.S Army.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 291, the PPP's, and the Prince Hall Masons Keystone Lodge #39.

Surviving are his wife, Nora Mae Morgan Lewis; one brother, Walter Edward Lewis, Jr.; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. James L. Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
