Evelyn Graham Lewis, 58, of 4105 Midland Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at her home.

Mrs. Lewis was born May 18, 1953, in Covington, a daughter of William H. Graham, Sr. of Covington and the late Harriet Griffith Graham Davidson.

In addition to her Mother, she was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Bubbie Graham.

Evelyn retired in May of 2010 as a PCA 2 nurse at Alleghany Regional Hospital after 22 years of service as a registered nurse. She was a former member of the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad. She was an active member of the ALS Association.

Surviving in addition to her father are two daughters, Evelyn "Jeannie" Escobar and Kimberly Perez, both of Harrisonburg; one son, Phillip Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Covington; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; four sisters, Eloise Webb of Covington; Teresa Commerford and her husband, Jim of Calimesa,CA; Kitty Davidson of Denver, CO, and April Bowers of Waynesboro; two brothers, William H. "Peanut" Graham, Jr. of Covington and Matt Davidson of Goshen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

Following the service, the family will receive their friends at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence of Eloise Webb at 702 South Highland Ave, Covington, Virginia.

The family suggests that donations in Evelyn's name be made to the ALS Association, 7507 Standish Place; Rockville, MD 20855.
