Retired Auto Body Repairman Dies At Age 67

Tom W. Warlitner III, age 67, of 1405 Concord Street, Selma, Virginia, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at his residence.

He was born April 7, 1944 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late Tom W. Warlitner, Jr. and Elizabeth Coberly Warlitner.

He was a retired auto body repairman for Halsey's Body Shop of Covington, but also worked for Glenn's Body Shop in Selma for a number of years.

He was a former member of the Newport News Moose Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Frances Wilson Warlitner in 2001.

He is survived by two sons, Tom W. Warlitner IV of Newport News, Virginia, and Greg Warlitner and wife, Leslie of Covington; a brother, Bill Warlitner and wife, Jo of Jacksonville, FL; a granddaughter, Chloe Warlitner; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Mike Rollins officiating. Following the service, his body was cremated. The family received friends on Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, PO Box 37, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
