James Arthur White, 77, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Benjamin Borden Healthcare Center in Lexington.

Born January 12, 1934 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Samuel C. White and Esther Gillespie White.

Mr. White was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church.

Surviving are his children, Sandra W. Mohler, Janet Randall, Sharon West, and Jeff White, all of Buena Vista; Greg White of KY; a brother, Ruddell White of Lexington; a sister, Gloria Rhodenizer; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Bishop Jan-Erik Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
