Rockbridge Native Was Church Pianist, Ruritan Club Member

Frances Merle Reynolds, 77, of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, died Monday, July 4, 2011 at Augusta Health Center in Fishersville, VA.

Born March 15, 1934 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Maurice Alexander Blackburn and Lettie Rhodes Blackburn.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Frances was a faithful member of the Faith Baptist Church who loved the Lord and her family and had played the piano for various churches for the last 69 years.

She was also a member of the Sam Houston Ruritan Club, where she was the past secretary and was currently serving as its treasurer.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Ralph Reynolds; one son, Edward Reynolds and wife, Heather of Buena Vista; one daughter, Belinda Shanks and husband, Donnie of Natural Bridge Station; six grandchildren, Michael Shanks, Chris Reynolds, Adam Reynolds, Jennifer Shanks, Raeghan Reynolds, Noah Reynolds; two great grandchildren, Jeremiah Reynolds and Joey Reynolds.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Bostic and Dr. Charles O'Roark officiating. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 15 Faith Baptist Circle, Natural Bridge Station, VA 24579 or to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450.The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
