Glasgow Baptist Church Member Dies At Age 93

Ruby Wilmer Bradley, 93 of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Friday, July 8, 2011.

Ruby was born April 7, 1918 in Amherst County, the daughter of the late Benjamin F. Wilmer and Sallie Duff Wilmer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Massie, and her brothers, Lensey, Edward and Frank, Jr.; sisters, Alda Mays, Ora Stevens, Nora Foster and Frances Wilmer.

She was a long-time member of Glasgow Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many years. She will always be remembered by her sweet caring and giving spirit and her devotion to family and friends.

Left behind to cherish her memories are son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Carolyn Bradley of Glasgow; a daughter, Louise B. McCullough of Natural Bridge; grandchildren, Wesley, Mike and wife, Andrea, Teri Bradley and Curt McCullough; and a sister, Carleen W. Wingfield of Lynchburg.

The family would like to thank the Golden Living-Shenandoah Valley Nursing Home and their great staff for the special and wonderful care given to her in her later years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Glasgow Baptist Church or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 5 to 6 p. m. at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
