Katherine Edwards Gilbert, 93, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Thursday, July 14, 2011.

Born August 18, 1917 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late Marvine and Lucy Carver Edwards.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Gilbert and a daughter, Patsy Brown.

Surviving are three sons, W. Wayne Gilbert and wife, Lucy of Charlottesville, Keith C. Gilbert and wife, Joann of NC and William J. Gilbert of Rockbridge County; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
