Gerald Ryland Miller, 75, of 5004 Indian Draft Road, Covington, Virginia died, Friday, July 22, 2011 at the White Sulphur Springs Nursing Center in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

He was born July 31, 1935 in Covington, a son of the late James William and Bonnie Baker Miller.

Gerald graduated from Covington High School in 1952.

Mr. Miller was an employee of the former Hercules, Inc. plant in Covington and had retired from AET in 1998 after 35 years of service.

He was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Smith Miller, in 2009 and also by two brothers, Harry F. Miller in 1978 and his twin brother, Earl W. Miller in 1998.

Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Danny and Phyllis Miller of White Sulphur Springs, WV; two daughters, Debbie Dudley and Robin Broughman and her husband, David, all of Covington; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robbie and Dreama Miller of Covington and Freddie and Carol Miller of Hurricane, WV; one sister, Hallie Dressler of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Trent officiating.

Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Memorials: The family suggests that memorial donations in Mr. Miller's name be made to the American Cancer Society, In care of Karen Buzzard, 807 McCormick Boulevard, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
