Monocan Indian Tribe Member Dies At Age 98

Queenie Victoria Clark, 98, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at her home.

Born February 15, 1913 in Amherst County, she was a daughter of the late Johnny Johns and Minni Johns.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Washington Clark, and two daughters, Beulah Ailstock and Polly Clark.

Queenie was a member of the Monocan Indian Tribe.

Surviving are her children, Carl Clark, Patsy Camden, and Judy Staton; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
