Obituary for Ruby Patterson Craft Ruby Patterson Craft
Worked At Effinger Elementary For 40 Years

Ruby Patterson Craft, 87, of Lexington, Virginia, went to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at her home.

Born August 2, 1923, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mildred C. Patterson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie M. Patterson and Ledford Craft; one son, William L. Patterson; and daughter-in-law Hilda; two brothers, Louis E. and Richard L. Patterson; and one sister, Gwendaline Patterson.

Ruby was a member of the Collierstown Baptist Church and worked in the cafeteria at Effinger Elementary School for approximately 40 years.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby J. and Mary H. Patterson; two grandchildren, Jeff Patterson (Cathy), Jennifer Raynes (Kenny); four greatgrandchildren, Dylan and Casey Patterson, Natalie and Lillian Raynes; three sisters, Ardena (Deane) K. Coleman, Corita P. Owen (Ray), Rosa P. Trusell; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at Collierstown Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Clark and Pastor Greg Gertz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Effinger Fire Department, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450 or Collierstown Baptist Church, 3926 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at the home at any time. Burial will follow at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
