Obituary for Marilyn Woods Hansone Marilyn Woods Hanson
Indiana Native Dies At Age 85

Mr. Preston Burton May, age 70, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.

He was the husband of Wanda Bowen May.

Mr. May was born August 26, 1940 in the Hidden Valley section of Bath County, the son of Mary Meadows May and the late Lonnie Glen May.

He graduated from Dunlap High School and served his country as a member of the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany for three years.

Mr. May resided in Jessup, MD. from 1966 until 1976 before moving to Reno, NV, to live until he returned to Virginia in 2003.

He retired from Road Local 669 Pipe & Fire Sprinkler in 1999.

Mr. May enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother, Mary Meadows May, and his wife, Wanda Bowen May, Mr. May is survived by one daughter, Kimberly May; one grandson, Dalton Pack of Mayfield, KY; one granddaughter, Kelsey Pack and fiance, Eliot McKinney of Wingo, KY; one great grandson, Luke Oneal McKinney of Wingo, KY; one sister, Christine Martin and husband, Donald of Paint Bank; two brothers, John May and wife, Joyce, Mike May and wife, Alice, all of Covington; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a very special adopted through love family, Russ, Trudy, Zach and Ryan Woodzell of Hot Springs.

In addition to his father, Lonnie Glen May, Mr. May was preceded in death by one daughter, Beth Ann May Pack; one brother, Lonnie May, Jr.; one sister, Barbara May Southall; father-in-law, Ernest Bowen; and mother-in-law, Annie Persinger Bowen.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Hot Springs Rescue Squad, P.O. Box N, Hot Springs, VA 24445.
