Virginia Mae (Jenny) Unroe Anderson, age 46, of 808 Market Street, Iron Gate, Virginia, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Lewis Gale Hospital, Alleghany, in Low Moor.

She was born December 3, 1964 in Clifton Forge, Virginia.

She was a 1983 graduate of Alleghany County High School and received Associate Degrees from the Business Management and Administrative Assistant programs of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.

She was currently a Scales Clerk for Cycle Systems of Low Moor, and had previously been a molder for Parker Hannifin of Iron Gate and manager of Rennie's in Cliftondale Park.

She was a member of the Iron Gate United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society, and a former member of the Iron Gate Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved animals and flower gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Earl "Eddie" Anderson, Jr. of Iron Gate; father, Richard "Randy" Unroe and step mother Dorothy of Iron Gate; mother Margaret Miller Jeffries and step father Jimmy of Iron Gate; six sisters, Melissa Unroe of Covington, Priscilla Yeagley of Covington, Sherry Strong of Heiskell, TN, Jennifer Jordan of Low Moor, Randa Nicely of Covington, and Shannon Wolfe of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Michael Jeffries of Cheraw, SC and Bryon Unroe of Covington; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Marion Anderson of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews; and her special furry and feathered children, Diesel, Brandy, Sebastian, Jasmine, Sassy, Blue, Dovey, Soar, Spirit, and Thumper.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating. Interment followed in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers were John Simmons, Jeffrey Coffey, Bryon Unroe, Kenny Yeagley, Nathan Goldberg, Tony Jack, Glenn Mays, and Corbin Anderson. The family received friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 808 Market Ave, Iron Gate, VA or at the home of Margaret and Jimmy Jeffries, 606 Railroad Ave, Iron Gate, VA. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alleghany Humane Society, PO Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457 or to the American SIDS Institute, 528 Raven Way, Naples, FL 34110 (www.sids.org).
