Margaret Catherine Southers, 89, of Lexington, Virginia, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born December 23, 1921 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late John McManama and Cora Chittum McManama.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Southers; sons, Robert E. (Bobby), Early McArthur (Mack), Billy F. and James L. (Jimmy) Southers; grandchildren, Mack Southers and Melinda Kay Gardner Hostetter.

Surviving are one son, Clyde Southers of TX; three daughters, Patricia Latsha of TX; Dorothy Ramsey and Belinda Fix, both of Buena Vista; twenty one grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Pentecostal Outreach Church with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
