Obituary for Daisy Armentrout Hartman Daisy Armentrout Hartman
Worked With Alleghany County School System For 43 Years

Daisy Armentrout Hartman, 78, of Alleghany County, Virginia, died Tuesday, August 9, 2001 at The Brian Center in Low Moor.

She was born February 2, 1933, at Earlhurst in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late William Dallas and Daisy Ethel Hepler Armentrout.

Mrs. Hartman was the school secretary at the former Dunlap High School and retired as school secretary from Callaghan Elementary School after over 43 years of service with the Alleghany County School System.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Wayne Armentrout, W. D. Armentrout, Jr. and Ray Armentrout, and also by a niece, Donna Lane.

Surviving are two sons, Rick Hartman and his wife, Melanie of Covington and Russell Ray Hartman of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Ashley Waymack and her husband ,Tripp of Cary, NC and Amber Phillip and her husband, Jon of Quantico; one great granddaughter, Mia Phillip of Quantico; a number of nieces and nephews including Rita Dressler of Covington and William D. Armentrout III of Covington, and a sister in law, Joyce Armentrout of Covington.

The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

Friends may pay their respects any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
