Obituary for Patricia Jean Stinnett Floyd Patricia Jean Stinnett Floyd
Longtime Hair Stylist Was Former Buena Vista Resident

Patricia Jean Stinnett Floyd, 58, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center in Newport News, VA.

She was born November 9, 1952 in Buena Vista, Virginia, a daughter of the late Edward Lee Stinnett and Dora Mae Nuckols.

She moved to Newport News, VA with her husband and three sons in 1986 and recently relocated to Hayes, VA.

Patricia worked as a hair stylist for many years at Anne Marie's/Ava's Hair Studio, where she cut and trimmed thousands of people's hair and was affectionately known as PJ to her clients.

Patricia loved the water, the ocean, and the beach. But most of all she was a loving mother who saw her three boys become men who she often said she was proud of.

She adored her grandchildren and her world revolved around them and she cherished every moment she had with them. Her warm heart was matched with a quick wit and she was always ready with a joke to lighten spirits. PJ or Patricia had many great friends that she often spoke fondly of, especially those closest to her at Ava's hair studio and more recently her new neighbors in Hayes. Patricia also had a deep faith in the Lord and placed her trust in his will.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger L. Stinnett and sister, Linda F. Stinnett.

Left behind to honor her memory are her ex-husband, Larry H. Floyd of Hayes; three sons, Troy A. Floyd and wife, Amy T. Floyd of Hayes; Joseph L. Floyd and wife, Angela R. Floyd of Fairfax; Anthony S. Floyd and wife, Shannon B. Floyd of Smithfield; four grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy S. Waddell of Hampton; Mary S. Caldwell of Coarsegold, CA; three brothers, Donald L. Stinnett and wife, Kaye; David W. Stinnett and wife, Teresa all of Buena Vista; Timothy E. Stinnett and wife, Keri of Kamilche, WA; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Christian Becker officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
