Preston McClung McCormick, 88, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at his home.

Born April 13, 1923 in Lexington, he was the son of the late Charles David McCormick and Willie Haden Fainter McCormick.

In addition to his parents, Preston was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Keith McCormick.

Mr. McCormick retired from Burlington Industries after forty two years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Frances F. McCormick of Lexington; two sons, Preston H. McCormick of Buena Vista, and Sherman H. McCormick of Buchanan; one daughter, Linda Fay Windley of Layton, UT; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery with the Rev. Odell Humphries and the Rev. David Heim officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450.
