Robert Lee (Bobby) Ramsey, 67, of Vesuvius, Virginia, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at his residence with family and friends at his bedside.

Mr. Ramsey was born in Newport News on December 29, 1943, son of the late Mildred McCormick and Robert Ramsey, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son Lynwood Campbell, Jr.

Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife, Ruth Terry Ramsey of Vesuvius; son, Charles (Richie) Ramsey of Vesuvius; daughter, Cindy Ramsey of Richmond; step-children, Gerry Campbell and wife, Nancy of Manassas, David Campbell and wife, Martha of Staunton, Tammy Bower and husband, Troy of New Kent, Va. Also surviving is a brother, Wayne and wife, Ninita of Buena Vista, a sister, Brenda Ramsey of Buena Vista, and Barbara Humphries of Buena Vista; special friends Sharon and Brian Heffner of Vesuvius and 9 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 At the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Mace officiating. Burial will Follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
