Retired Truck Driver Was Air Force Veteran

James Howard Miller, 68, of 209 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

He was born in Pittsville, Wisconsin on January 17, 1943, a son of the late William Daniel and Ruby Estelle Snyder Miller.

He was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator, working in the Roanoke area for many years.

Mr. Miller had served in the United States Air Force for 12 years.

He enjoyed the C.B. radio, and was a member of the Oak Hill Bible Church in Clifton Forge.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Keyser Miller of Clifton Forge; a son, David Shane Miller of Jacksonville, Florida; three step children, Kenny and Gary Keyser of Covington and Kerry Keyser of Clifton Forge; a sister, Catherine Roberts of Sharon, Tennessee; a brother, John Miller of Titusville, Florida; step grandchildren, Emily, Kimberly, Brittany, and Marsha.

He was preceded in death by a step grandson, Tommy Kimberlin and a great step granddaughter, Isabelle.

A private memorial service will be conducted by the family at a later date.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Nicely Funeral Home.
