Obituary for Maggie C. Carter Maggie C. Carter
Stop-In Retiree Was Buchanan Resident

Maggie C. Carter, 84, of Buchanan, Virginia, died Friday, September 16, 2011 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born August 24, 1927 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Fisher and Mary Betty Fisher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Francis Edward Camden, Jr.

Mrs. Carter was a member of the Buchanan Baptist Church and retired from Stop-In.

Surviving are her daughters, Mary Jane Brads of Buchanan; Linda C. Heck of Fincastle; Iris Farrell, also of Buchanan; two sisters, Hallie Williams and Audrey Watkins, both of Natural Bridge; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Rockbridge Memorial Garden at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 with the Rev. Brian Clingenpeel officiating. The family received friends on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 2 - 3 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
