Edward Willis Craney, Sr., 79, of Lexington, Virginia, died Saturday September 24, 2011 at Kendal.

Born February 1, 1932 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Clarence Frazier Craney and Lillian Harper Craney.

Mr. Craney was a member of the Lexington Sportsman's Club and retired from VMI.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl E. Craney, of Lexington, and Trena W. Craney-Moore of MD; three sons, Edward W. Craney Jr., Mark Q Craney, and Trent O Craney, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
