Obituary for Isabelle Fitz Turner Isabelle Fitz Turner
Burlington Retiree Was Active In Her Church

Isabelle Fitz Turner, 78, of Glasgow, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord on October 14, 2011 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.

Isabelle was born March 25, 1035 in Glasgow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. Sr. and Irene Thompson Fitz; three sisters, Joan F. Cabble, Carol F. Sledd and Barbara Peterson; three brothers, Charles L. Jr., William Fitz and Wendell Fitz Jr.

Isabelle was married to the late Lewis E. Turner for 35 years. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she enjoyed service on many ministries within the church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars-Anne Ellen Early, Chapter 209.

She retired from Burlington Industries.

To all who knew her, she was a woman of prayer, who loved God, family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jeannette (Laverne) Cooper and husband, Anthony, Thomas Stores and wife, Belinda, both of Richmond; Sterling Stores Jr., Darin Stores and wife, Lynn, Timothy Turner and wife, Betty, Donna Dunn and husband, Kent, all of Glasgow; Verna Smith and husband, Carlton and Clifton Turner, both of Maryland; sisters, Loretta Perkins, of Maryland, Constance Robinson and husband, David, Joyce Carter and husband, Jessie, both of Glasgow; two brothers-in-law, Vincent Peterson of Glasgow and Herbert Turner of Alabama; two aunts, Florence Kyle and husband, Robert, of Maryland and Fannie Thompson of Glasgow; as well as 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

She will be missed by all who came to love her.

The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Union Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 3 p.m. with Dr. Horace Rice, Pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Franklin Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
