Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Member Worked With Arcadia Polymers

Mrs. Mary Etta Campbell Gibson, age 81, of 115 Stillwater Drive, Covington, Virginia, died October 22, 2011 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany.

She was the wife of Thomas William Gibson.

Mrs. Gibson was born May 19, 1930 in Botetourt County, the daughter of the late Henry Franklin Campbell and Dorothy Taylor Landis Campbell.

She was retired from Arcadia Polymers with 31 1/2 years service, working as an inspector.

Mary was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Mary loved to travel and go camping especially sitting by the campfire.

Mary's passion in life was spending time with her family and enjoying all children. She had a special place in her heart for her D & J family.

In addition to her husband, Thomas William Gibson, she is survived by three sons; Grover L. Broughman of Clifton Forge, Samuel F. Broughman and Thomas William "Billy" Gibson, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Covington; two daughters, Nelda Faye Wills and Bethany Lynn Broughman, both of Ridgeley, WV; four brothers; Henry F. Campbell, Jr., Carroll E. Campbell, Bowman D. Campbell and William H. Campbell; six sisters, Pam C. Key, Cora Lee C. Hasting, Lydia C. Lipscomb, Shirley Jane C. Pinkard, Lula C. Brooks and Florence Edna C. Jones; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda C. Lawhorn, and Frances C. Reynolds; one brother, Lewis F. Campbell, and one-son-in- law, Billy Joe Wills.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Billy Gibson, Donnie Crosier, Scott Wolff, Clinton Wolff, Steve Ujcic and Matt Baum. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Falling Spring Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 880 Covington, Va. 24426
