Lucille Brunty, 81, of Fairfield, Virginia, passed away, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at her home.

She was born January 10, 1930 in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Jesse O. Billings and Mary Tilley Billings.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty three years, Gilbert D. Brunty, and a son, Billy Joe Brunty.

Surviving are two sons, Jesse Brunty of Fairfield and Frankie Brunty of Buena Vista; one daughter, Dreama Shifflett and husband, David of Monterey; two sisters, Nannie Bailey and Louise Belcher, both of WV; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Linda Brunty; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tony Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Spottswood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
