Rockbridge Native Was Lauderdale ARP Church Member

Gracie Louise Conner Hostetter, 82, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born on April 4, 1929, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late James Irby Conner and Dorothy Johns Conner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Estil "Bunk" Hostetter; a son-in-law, Dennie Swink; three brothers and four sisters.

Gracie was a member of the Lauderdale ARP Church.

Surviving are one son, James Estil "Butch" Hostetter Jr. and wife, Anne, of Charlotte, N.C.; three daughters, Gail Swink, Carolyn Thompson and husband, Paul, and Mitsy Leslie and husband, Vincent, all of Lexington; two sisters, Mildred Wade, of Lexington, and Mary Mutispaugh, of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Billy Conner, of Lexington; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benjamin W. Dowling III officiating. Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Lexington Fire Department, 708 S. Main Street, Lexington, VA 24450.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va., 540-463-2912.
