Michelle (Shelly) Yvonne Harris Rogers, age 41, of 102 Sixth Street, Iron Gate, Virginia, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at her residence.

Shelly was born July 10, 1970 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to Vernon Wayne Harris and Linda Tucker Harris Helmintoller.

She was a graduate of Alleghany High School and was working as an assistant manager for the Stop-In Food Store in Clifton Forge.

She loved NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, boating on Lake Moomaw, and beach vacations.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Irene and Frazier Tucker, and paternal grandparents, Roy and Polly Harris.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Lee Rogers, Jr. of Iron Gate; her mother, Linda Helmintoller of Covington; a son, Kasey Leslie Hale of Clifton Forge; a step son, Jacob Lee Rogers and friend, Samantha of Iron Gate; two sisters, Lisa Ann Wolfe and husband, Jeff of Selma, and Nicky Harris of Covington; one grandchild, Jemma Leigh Rogers; her father and mother-in-law, Walter and Virginia Rogers of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mrs. Jolanda Pendleton officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Dean Rogers, Adam Morris, Scott Tucker, Jeff Wolfe, Scott Wolfe, W. L. Tingler, and Larry Hinkle.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
