Obituary for Charlene Mundy Reynolds Charlene Mundy Reynolds
Botetourt Native Was Active In Her Community

Charlene Mundy Reynolds, 68 of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, went home with our Lord on Saturday November 12, 2011 after a long battle with COPD.

Charlene was born in Botetourt County on May 31, 1943.

She was preceded in death by her father Roy C. "Mutt" Mundy, Jr., a sister, Barbara Mundy Spangler, and a brother, Tommy A. Mundy; and most recently, a beloved nephew, Kevin Wade Spangler.

She is survived by her mother, Ethel C. Mundy, of Glasgow and her adoring husband of fifty-one years, Bernard F. Reynolds; two daughters, Deborah Reynolds Stump and Robin Michelle Reynolds, all of Natural Bridge Station; a son-in-law, Robert Lee Stump, and the two loves of her life, her grandchildren, Michelle Leigh Stump and fiance, Austin Smith, of Glasgow, and Patrick Douglas Stump and fiance, Kimberly Hartless, of Natural Bridge Station. Also surviving are brothers, Jimmy C. Mundy (sister-in-law, Sharon), of Roanoke, and Frank G. Mundy (sister-in-law, Linda), of Broadway, sister, Lynda Mundy-Norris Miller, of Glasgow, sister-in-law, Darlene Mundy, of Buena Vista, brother-in-law Elwood Reynolds (sister-in-law, Florence), of Natural Bridge, a sister-in-law, Faye Reynolds, of Glasgow and her uncle, Marvin Mundy of Richmond, and aunt Ruby Matthews, of Sanford, FL. As well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many close friends, including her special friends, Leroy and Hilda Smiley, Joan Reynolds, and Bobby and Susan Brads.

Charlene stayed in close contact with her NBHS graduating class of 1961 and recently was able to go to her 50th class reunion; she was past president and long time member of the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Glasgow/Natural Bridge Junior Women's Club.

She served as past president and served on the board of Directors at the Rockbridge Area Occupational Center. She was very active in supporting the Virginia Special Olympics, as well as a member of the Buchanan Moose Lodge.

She was retired from Lee's Carpets in Glasgow and was a member of the Natural Bridge Beth Horon United Methodist Church.

Throughout her life, Charlene was a devoted caretaker of her daughter, Robin. She also took great pleasure in spoiling her two grandchildren and competed many years in Lexington Ladies League bowling. Her passionate hobby was that of playing poker and enjoyed many card games with her family and later traveling with her love playing at the casinos.

A celebration of her life will commence on Tuesday November 15, 2012 with a family and friends night at Harrison's Funeral Home in Lexington, VA from six to eight o'clock in the evening. The funeral service will be held Wednesday November 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She will be laid to rest in the Glasgow Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. William McClung, Dr. Robert Keeley and the members of the Glasgow VFD, Glasgow Rescue Squad ant the Buena Vista Rescue Squad. ln lieu of flowers, our family requests donations be made to the Rockbridge Area Occupational Center in Buena Vista.

An invitation is extended to all of our friends and family to the Reynolds' home immediately following the interment services.

Today the lord took another angel into his arms to watch over all of us in his glorious kingdom where she has been greeted with love. Gone, but never forgotten!
