Obituary for Eliza Richardson Marston McHenry Eliza Richardson Marston McHenry
Teacher Also Served As LHS Librarian For 20 Years

Eliza Richardson Marston McHenry died November 12, 2011 at the age of 99 years.

Born April 28, 1912, in Toano, Virginia, she was the daughter of Helen Smith Marston and Dandridge Warren Marston.

She was graduated from The College of William and Mary in 1932 and began teaching in Rockbridge County at Effinger High School, where she taught Latin, French, and English.

ln Rockbridge County, she met and married William Kirkpatrick McHenry, her husband of over 60 years.

Mrs. McHenry studied library science and for twenty years was the librarian at Lexington High School, retiring in 1970.

She was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. McHenry was predeceased by her husband in 1995 and is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. George Irving Vogel of Roanoke and Mrs. David Christopher Bosworth of Newport News.

Mrs. McHenry has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery in Lexington at 12 p.m. on November 16, 2011 with the Rev. Dr. Robert Dandridge Marston officiating.
