Obituary for Arbutues Claytor Mannon Arbutues Claytor Mannon
Oldest Member Of Glasgow Baptist Church Dies At Age 101

Arbutues Claytor Mannon of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away at the age of 101 and 11 months, on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Buena Vista.

She was born on December 26, 1909.

She was an active member, as well as the oldest surviving member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, where she served her Lord in all activities of the church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everette Edward Mannon, and son, Edwin Earl Mannon; her parents, Ernest and Lucy Ellen Claytor, two brothers, Carl and Theodore Claytor; one sister, Pearl Camden. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, granddaughter and great granddaughter.

Mrs. Mannon is survived by three daughters, Doris Quick and husband, David, Ola Mae Coffey and Juanita Rice and husband, Robert. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 9 greatágrandchildren, 2 great great grandsons and 2 great great granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 at Glasgow Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at Golden Living Center for their loving care and the joy they brought to her daily. A special thanks to Drs. Jay/Jane Sailer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic, 25 Northridge Lane, Lexington, VA 24450.
