Vietnam War Veteran Was Bronze Star Recipient

Delmar Mark Clark, 65, of Roanoke, Virginia, formerly of Rockbridge County, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, VA.

Born May 7, 1946 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Mark J. Clark and Myrtle Tyree Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a longtime friend and caregiver, Sharon Sands.

Mr. Clark was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Delmar served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he received a Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal with V for Valor.

Surviving are one daughter, Elayna Clark; one brother, Raymond C. Clark and wife, Connie; three sisters, Louise Mason Lenwell and husband, James D.; Bernice Clark Critzer and husband, Alvin; Doris Clark Lawhorn and husband, Gleonard; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Elder Raymond Clark and Elder Garvis Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA
