Obituary for Phillip Leslie Ragland Phillip Leslie Ragland
Former BV Police Investigator Was UMC Pastor

Phillip Leslie Ragland, 62, of Lexington, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at his home.

Born February 21, 1949 in Lynchburg, he a son of Josie Tomlin Harris and the late Leslie Franklin Ragland.

Phil was the pastor of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was an avid fisherman, and retired from the Buena Vista Police Department as a Lieutenant after thirteen years of service.

In addition to his mother, Phil is survived by his wife of thirty years, Pamela Green Ragland of Lexington; stepfather, Robert Harris; two sons, Robert Leslie Ragland and wife, Maria of Washington; Phillip Leslie Ragland, Jr. of Rockbridge Baths; one daughter, April Marie Lopez and Jay of Simi Valley, CA; one brother, Robert Harris, Jr. of Rustburg; one sister, Rhonda Harris Inge of Rustburg; five grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Dr. Bud Davis, the Rev. Jim Grimmer, and the Rev. Ray Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 150, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
