Obituary for Irvin Eugene (Gene) Miller Irvin Eugene (Gene) Miller
New Jersey Native Was Self-Employed Truck Driver

Irvin Eugene (Gene) Miller, 79, of 5608 Johnson Creek Road, Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday evening, November 23, 2011, at his daughter Jean King and Phillip WhiteÕs residence, where he had lived with for a number of years.

He was born June 29, 1932 in Medford, New Jersey, a son of the late Harry and Ellise Miller.

Mr. Miller retired as a self-employed truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Ely Miller in 1998; two sons, John Foster and Chuck Foster; one daughter, Peggy Miller, and a number of brothers and sisters.

Surviving are three daughters, Jean King and Phillip White of Covington; Ruth Leonard and Ellis Bates of Covington and Vicky Beemer and her husband, Frank of Springfield, OH; two sons, Mitch Miller and his wife, Colleen of Indian Mills, NJ; and Glen Miller and his wife, Marie of New Hampshire; a daughter in law, Claudia Foster of Southamton, NJ ; a number grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a special fiend, Dixie Miller of Union, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. The interment followed in the Gap Mills United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends one hour prior to service time at the Arritt Funeral Home on Sunday.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, handled the arrangements.
