Catherine Paxton Fischer, 72, of Chester, VA, formerly of Lexington, died November 24, 2011 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Born June 28, 1939 in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Wilson Paxton, Sr. and Catherine Parrent Paxton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Edgar Paxton, Sr.

Catherine was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church for forty-six years, Village Woman's Club and the Woman's Club of Chester.

Surviving are her husband of fifty five years, Ronald Luis Fischer of Chester, VA; three sons, Ronald Luis Fischer, Jr. and wife, Suzan; Bryan Keith Fischer and wife, Jill; Darell Lee Fischer and wife, Amy; one brother, Eugene W. Paxton, Jr.; six grandchildren, Bryan (Jennifer), Erica (Erik), Jessica, Aaron, Carter, and Liam; three great grandchildren, various cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Manly Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
