Marian Elsie Wood Chittum, 80, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died at her residence on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.

Mrs. Chittum was born November 8, 1931, the daughter of the late Samuel and LeeAnna Wood.

Mrs. Chittum was a member of the Pentecostal Outreach Church, Buena Vista, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Lee Chittum, Jr.; two brothers; William H. Wood and Andy Willis Wood, both of Buena Vista; two sisters: Esther Mae Wood and Ruby Hamilton Wood, both of Buena Vista.

Mrs. Chittum is survived by three sons: Wayne L. Chittum, Allen J. Chittum and Gary L. Chittum, all of Buena Vista, Virginia; two daughters: Robin Chittum Mock of Lexington, North Carolina, and Vicky Chittum Stanley of Pfafftown, North Carolina; two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous special friends and family.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home, Buena Vista, Virginia, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Larry Clark, and the Rev. Gentry L. Hinojosa officiating.
