Mr. Ralph Page Peery, 82, of Covington, Virginia, passed away December 8, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Owen Peery, and brothers, Gilbert "Buck" Peery and Richard Peery.

Mr. Peery was born November 19, 1929, in Bath County, the son of the late Carl Andrew and Annie Gates Peery.

Following service in the United States Air Force, Mr. Peery worked at Westvaco in Covington for 49 years, retiring as Purchasing Manager.

He was a dedicated member of First Presbyterian Church in Covington, serving on the Session and most recently serving as Church Administrator.

Mr. Peery was an avid golfer and served his community as a member of the Covington-Hot Springs Rotary Club.

Mr. Peery is survived by two sons, Owen Lee Peery and his wife, Yvonne, of Richmond, and Austin Page Peery, of Covington; three grandchildren, Henry Owen Peery, Thomas Marten Peery and Ina Marie Peery; and a brother, Julian Peery of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church. The family received friends Saturday, December 10, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home in Covington. Memorial tributes may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 185 N.
