Obituary for Korey Lee Ryder Korey Lee Ryder
Painter Was Millboro Resident

Korey Lee Ryder, age 28, of 83 Thorn Hill Drive, Millboro, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in Roanoke, Virginia.

He was born October 17, 1983 in Bath County, Virginia to Daniel Lee and Barbara Jean Cauley Ryder.

He was employed as a maintenance painter for Roanoke County Public Schools, and participated as a missionary to Haiti through the Windy Cove Presbyterian Church missions program.

He loved art, especially paintings, as well as hunting, skateboarding, and playing guitar.

In addition to his parents, Daniel and Barbara Ryder of Millboro, Korey is survived by a sister, Sara Ryder Smith of Roanoke; a brother-in-law, Brian Anthony Smith of Port St. Lucie, FL; his grandmother, Annie Cauley of Millboro; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Living Stones Ministry Church with Pastor Mike Rollins and Pastor Steve Shaver officiating.

Interment will follow in Windy Cove Cemetery, Millboro.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bush, Alex Shaver, Clinton Perry, Justin Perry, Brady Martin, Josh Loan, Justin Hiner, and John Hobbs. Alternate pallbearers will be Matt Pleasant, T. J. Shaver, and Dustin Kincaid.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge and other times at the residence, 83 Thorn Hill Drive, Millboro. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Windy Cove Missionary Fund - Haiti, 102 Windy Cove Road, Millboro, VA 24460.
